For the third year running, Lenny Kravitz has been sued over a toilet that overflowed in the rock star's Manhattan penthouse in mid-2004. As with two prior lawsuits, Kravitz has just been named in a New York State Supreme Court complaint charging him with negligence in connection with the August 2004 toilet incident.
This time, the Pacific Indemnity Insurance Company wants Kravitz to reimburse it for $457,339.11, the amount the firm says it paid policyholder Mark Van Lith for damages to his $2.87 million fourth-floor apartment.
Two other insurance firms have sued Kravitz for similar payments made to downstairs neighbors whose swanky spaces were damaged by the urban cascade. The prior lawsuits, both of which are pending, seek $333,849 and $9387, respectively, in connection with Kravitz's crammed commode. So, the 41-year-old performer is now facing claims totaling $800,000 as a result of the leak in his sprawling Soho condominium, which Kravitz purchased in 2001 for $7.1 million and has sought to sell for upwards of $13 million.
