X-Files star Gillian Anderson and her husband, photojournalist and documentary filmmaker Julian Ozanne, are separating after 16 months of marriage, their London-based lawyers said in a statement.
"Gillian Anderson and Julian Ozanne are saddened to announce that their marriage is at an end and they are in the process of separating.
"At this difficult time they request their privacy is respected. There will be no further comment," said the statement from the legal firm of Schillings on behalf of Anderson, 37, and Ozanne, 43.
Anderson, a Chicago native, married Kenya-born foreign correspondent Ozanne on Dec. 29, 2004, on Lamu's Shella island, off Kenya's Indian Ocean coast.
