Pete Burns arrested for ignoring bail conditions

Dead or Alive frontman Pete Burns was jailed yesterday for flouting bail conditions after his arrest for allegedly attacking ex-boyfriend Michael Simpson.

Burns, who recently starred on British reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother, had been ordered to remain at an address in Merseyside, North-West England, between 7am and 7pm. He was also banned from travelling to London unless his journey was to appear in court. After ignoring the terms, Burns, 46, was put behind bars at London's Wandsworth Prison, where he will remain until his next court appearance on Tuesday.

The star was arrested earlier this month for allegedly attacking ex-lover Simpson and his new boyfriend. He was reportedly aggrieved to see Simpson arrive at London's Ghetto Club with another man - just weeks after they split - and clubbers were reportedly forced to take cover as friends of Burns and Simpson became involved in the fracas.

"RV" Review: Horrible Movie

"RV" is a horrible movie about horrible people, and just because they call it a comedy doesn't mean we have to play along. The story of a family vacation gone wrong, the film is constructed as a series of comic bits that don't pay off, that are not only not amusing but are often disturbing. Director Barry Sonnenfeld and writer Geoff Rodkey present a poisonous vision of family life without ever quite acknowledging it's poisonous. Perhaps they don't notice.

Keith Richards falls from tree; gets a concussion

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards was hospitalized for a mild concussion he suffered while vacationing in Fiji, reportedly after falling out of a palm tree.

Richards, 62, was injured earlier this week and flown to a New Zealand hospital for treatment, band spokeswoman Fran Curtis said in a statement Saturday.

"Following treatment locally and as a precautionary measure, he flew to a hospital accompanied by his wife, Patti, for observation," Curtis said.

The statement did not elaborate on Richards' condition or explain how he was injured.

But media reports in Australia and New Zealand said Richards hurt his head after falling out of a palm tree at an exclusive Fiji resort and remained hospitalized in Auckland.

A newspaper report said Richards was flown to Auckland's Ascot Hospital on Thursday after the accident. Hospital duty manager Steve Kirby would not comment on whether Richards was a patient there, citing the hospital's privacy policy.

Charlie Sheen removes "Denise" tattoo

Charlie Sheen wears a mysterious bandage around his left wrist, as he strolled around the Los Angeles suburb of Van Nuys on Sunday, April 23.

Given that it was only two days after his estranged wife, Denise Richards, filed explosive court papers alleging Sheen's taste for gambling, drugs and porn, Star guessed that he recently had his "Denise" tattoo removed from the area.

"True. He did," Charlie's rep confirms.

The saga of Pete Doherty continues...

DRUG fiend Pete Doherty stoops to a shocking new low in pictures showing him injecting heroin into an unconscious fan.

The junkie Babyshambles singer, who has won the heart of supermodel Kate Moss, was snapped jabbing the pretty youngster as she lay in his squalid kitchen.

Other pictures seen by The Sun show the rocker — who faces drugs charges — injecting himself and being helped to take drugs by a girl using her hands to form a makeshift tourniquet.

Yet another sees Doherty, 27, smoke a “crack bowl”, his tattooed and blood-stained arms betraying his addiction.

The disturbing scenes were captured by a pal at Doherty’s pad in Hackney, East London, within the last five weeks.

Scotland Yard today announced detectives are to quiz the rock star over the shocking photographs.

Michelle Rodriguez released from jail

Michelle Rodriguez, a star on the TV show “Lost,” was released from Oahu Community Correctional Center at 6:30 a.m. today after serving a prison sentence for driving drunk.

Rodriguez chose a five day sentence instead of 240 hours of community service after pleading guilty Tuesday to driving under the influence of an intoxicant last year.

She was given credit for one day served for the day she was arrested. She turned herself into the custody of the state Department of Public Safety at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Tom Read, Offender Management Administrator for Public Safety, said inmates are credited with one day served whether they are in custody for one minute or 24 hours.

Rodriguez faces jail time in California for violating terms of her probation for a DUI conviction in Los Angeles.

Eminem Pays Mother's Medical Bills

Eminem has reportedly agreed to pay his dying mother's medical bills in an attempt to reestablish their relationship.

The rapper has allegedly agreed to pay $368,000 on hospital charges for his mom, Debbie Mathers-Briggs, who is suffering from stage four breast cancer -- the deadly disease has already spread to other parts of her body.

The pair have barely spoken since 2002 when Debbie, 51, sued her son for defamation following the release of the song "Cleanin' Out My Closet," in which he brands her a drug addict, an alcoholic and a "selfish [bleep]".

However, mother and son are showing signs of wanting to put the past behind them.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "The nightmare Debbie has been going through with her cancer has put everything in perspective.

"She is very weak and knows the prognosis is bleak. She is desperate to build bridges with her son and put things right before it's too late.

"(Eminem) has recently started helping her financially with her medical bills, they have spoken a few times on the phone and now she desperately hopes he will visit her."

Mathers-Briggs was diagnosed in 2003, and faced bankruptcy a year later due to mounting hospital fees.

During this time she said of her son, "I don't want his money. It would be wonderful though, if he just called me with some honesty and sincerity.

"A lot of people say I am really dying of a broken heart."

Don Johnson pays $14.5M to save estate

Don Johnson has paid $14.5 million to save his 17-acre Woody Creek ranch from a foreclosure sale.

The former "Miami Vice" and "Nash Bridges" star had until noon Tuesday to make good on a delinquent debt to D.A. Shaw Laminar Lending Inc.

Fourteen acres of his estate would have been auctioned off Wednesday on the steps of the Pitkin County Courthouse if he missed the deadline, deputy public trustee Carol Foote said. Three acres and the guesthouse would have been auctioned off May 10.

The money arrived at the public trustee's office around 4 p.m. Monday, Foote said.

Johnson, the '80s icon known for wearing T-shirts with Armani sports jackets and penny loafers without socks, had to pay some $544,584 in interest and $7,175 in attorneys' fees, among other charges, according to documents obtained by the Aspen Daily News.

When reached by The Associated Press on Wednesday, Johnson spokesman Elliott Mintz declined comment.

"I'm going to let the documents do the talking," he said.

Papers filed in Pitkin County District Court by D.A. Shaw earlier this year claimed Johnson's two companies failed to make timely payments on a $10.6 million loan, given to Johnson's companies in August 2004 as they emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. (AP)

Chaka Khan Testifies in Son's Murder Trial

Singer Chaka Khan said her son is a kind, gentle man who she believes accidentally killed his friend nearly two years ago in her home.

Khan, whose real name is Yvette Stevens, testified Thursday in the murder trial of her son, 27-year-old Damien Patrick Holland.

Holland is charged with killing Christopher Bailey, 17, an aspiring rapper who was staying at the home Holland shares with his mother, girlfriend and five-year-old daughter.

Holland testified earlier this week that he never intended to kill Bailey when he poked at him with an M-16 assault rifle. The two were discussing an affair the younger man claimed to have had with Holland's girlfriend when Holland pointed the gun at his friend.

"Pow! I heard a shot," Holland said.

He cried in court as he recalled how Bailey fell to the floor, bleeding from his face.

Khan described Bailey as "bright," "talented" and "full of life," adding that the boy could have survived the shooting had police permitted emergency medical workers to enter her home sooner.

"It was like something out of a nightmare," Khan testified.

During questioning by his attorney, Milton Grimes, Holland admitted he made up a story about the gun going off amid a struggle with Bailey. Holland also said he persuaded friends to lie to the police and had a friend punch him in the face to make it appear he had fought with Bailey.

"I didn't see any way out of the situation," Holland said. "I felt terrible. I felt sick."

Khan, who is known for such hits as "Tell Me Something Good" and "I Feel For You," returns to court Monday for cross-examination.

50 Cent criticizes Oprah

He usually saves his beefs for other rappers; this time, 50 Cent is going after Oprah Winfrey.

In an interview with The Associated Press, 50 complained that Winfrey rarely invites rappers on her talk show: "I think she caters to older white women."

"Oprah's audience is my audience's parents," the 29-year-old rapper said. "So, I could care less about Oprah or her show."

He's not alone in his resentment toward the talk show host cum media mogul.

Rapper-actor Ludacris, aka Chris Bridges, said in the May issue of GQ magazine that Winfrey was "unfair" during a show he appeared on last October with co-stars from best-picture Oscar winner "Crash."

"She edited out a lot of my comments while keeping her own in," he said. "Of course, it's her show, but we were doing a show on racial discrimination, and she gave me a hard time as a rapper, when I came on there as an actor."

Winfrey's representative at her production company, Harpo, told the AP that Winfrey was unavailable for comment.

But, as 50 Cent said, Winfrey's purported disapproval might enhance a rap star's street cred.

"I'm actually better off having friction with her," he said.

Daniel Baldwin Won't Face Felony Charges

Actor Daniel Baldwin will not face felony charges after his arrest for investigation of cocaine possession, authorities said Friday.

Baldwin, 45, and another man were arrested on April 22 at a motel in Santa Monica. A small amount of cocaine and drug paraphernalia were found in the room, Santa Monica police Lt. Frank Fabrega said in a prepared statement.

After reviewing the case, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office declined to file felony charges and referred the matter to the city attorney's office in Santa Monica for consideration of misdemeanor charges.

David Spade calls Denise Richards a backstabber

The Denise Richards/Charlie Sheen war just got uglier. David Spade has fired the latest salvo, claiming Richards is a backstabber.

Richards, who has accused Sheen of a laundry list of sins including death threats against her, is apparently romantically involved with Richie Sambora, whose marriage to Heather Locklear is also ending. Locklear and Richards were once close friends, until the 'Spin City' star learned of Richards' relationship with her estranged husband.

Thursday, outside the popular Los Angeles restaurant Koi, Spade, who has been romantically linked to Locklear, was asked how Heather feels about Denise these days. His response, "She's still nursing the knife wound in her back."

Rush Limbaugh Arrested

Rush Limbaugh was arrested Friday on prescription drug fraud charges. The talk show host turned himself in to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department, where he was booked on prescription drug fraud charges and released an hour later on $3,000 bail.

The arrest coincided with a settlement between Limbaugh and the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office in which Limbaugh was charged with a single count of "doctor shopping." As part of the settlement, Limbaugh agreed to continue seeking treatment for prescription drug abuse. He also agreed to pay $30,000 to offset the cost of the criminal investigation.

Limbaugh pleaded not guilty to the charge. Nonetheless, the State Attorney agreed to defer prosecution and dismiss the charge altogether if Limbaugh complies with the terms of the settlement for the next 18 months.

Daniel Baldwin arrested for possession of coke

Daniel Baldwin has been arrested on charges of possession of cocaine. Police sources tell TMZ that Daniel, brother to Alec, Stephen and Billy, was arrested on April 22nd, after cops received a call that a woman had been threatened at the Ocean Park Motel in Santa Monica, California.

We're told that the police responded to a motel room where Baldwin and man named Buddy Winston were front and center. Cops said they found cocaine and arrested both men. Baldwin's bail was set a $10,000.

Brother to several well-known actors, Daniel Baldwin is an actor in his own right. His credits include Homicide: Life On The Street,' 'NYPD Blue' and a number of movies.

TMZ has been told that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has declined to prosecute the case and referred it to the Santa Monica City Attorney. That means, at worst, Baldwin could be prosecuted for misdemeanor drug possession.

Attempts to reach a rep for Baldwin were unsuccessful.

Sharon Stone Accepts Libel Damages

Sharon Stone has accepted an undisclosed sum in libel damages from a British newspaper that alleged she had left her 4-year-old son in a car while dining at a London restaurant.

Kirsty Howarth, a lawyer for the owners of the Daily Mail, told a judge at London's High Court on Thursday the newspaper now accepted that the allegation was untrue, and apologized to Stone for the distress and embarrassment it had caused.

Stone's lawyer, Rupert Grey, said the 48-year-old actress had agreed to accept an undisclosed sum in damages from the newspaper and planned to donate the money to charity.

The "Basic Instinct 2" star wasn't present for the court hearing.

In an article last June, the Daily Mail alleged that Stone had left her 4-year-old son Roan asleep in a car with her driver for more than two hours outside The Ivy restaurant -- a London celebrity hangout -- while she dined with a "mystery male companion."

"The article conveyed the clear allegation that Sharon Stone had neglected her son in a shameful and selfish way," Grey said.

The Daily Mail repeated the allegations in an article the next month, and they were picked up by other media outlets.

Grey said Stone could produce witnesses to confirm that her son had dined with her at the restaurant.
