Movie star Jennifer Lopez has filed a complaint with the Superior Court of California against ex-husband Ojani Noa, in order to prevent what she claims is the "outrageous conduct of [Noa] ... who is shopping a manuscript containing private and intimate statements, many of which are negative, denigrating and disparaging" about Lopez, according to the papers.
The papers, filed Monday, also allege that Noa is attempting to exploit his relationship with Lopez for financial gain "by making salacious, inflammatory, invasive ... as well as some false and defamatory statements."
Also in the papers, Lopez's lawyers claim that Noa's actions are in violation of an earlier settlement reached in October of last year, in which they say Noa agreed he would not "in any way ... criticize, denigrate [or] cast [Lopez] in a negative light."
The papers also cite a January 2006 article in the New York Post in which Noa allegedly made disparaging comments about Lopez, including a statement that she had an affair with a castmate on the set of the 1997 movie 'Anaconda' while still married to Noa, and that she also had an affair with current husband Marc Anthony while he was still married to ex-wife Dayanara Torres.
According to the papers, Noa is trying to obtain a publisher for a book that alludes to his life with the megastar. The court papers also claim that Noa "subtly threatened" Lopez that he would negotiate with her "for the right price" -- according to the suit, Noa asked for $5 million so that he would stop marketing the book.
Lopez married former model Noa in February 1997; they divorced in January 1998.
