Actress and PETA member PAMELA ANDERSON has announced that she will not be attending the Kentucky Derby this year because she believes the famed horse race is a form of cruelty to animals.
"It makes me want to avoid Kentucky altogether, which is sad because there are so many great people there," says Anderson in a statement released Tuesday by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The "Stacked" star is also involved in the organization's fight against Louisville-based KFC.
"I don't want to support cruelty to animals, whether it's forcing horses to race for our amusement or scalding chickens alive for our plate," says Anderson, who attended the Derby in 2001 and 2003.
