Actress DARYL HANNAH was arrested on trespassing charges today after climbing a tree to help save a Los Angeles community garden. The 'Kill Bill' actress joined farmers and environmentalists as they squatted on a 14-acre garden that the landowner now wants to turn into warehouses and factories.
"This is the largest urban farm in the nation," Daryl says. "It doesn't cost the city a dime and we'd like to save this farm."
Police moved in at about 5 a.m. and began arresting dozens of protestors. Firefighters used a cherry-picking crane to bring Hannah and others down from their perch in a walnut tree overlooking the garden.
About 350 people grow vegetables and flowers on the plot, which has existed for more than 10 years. Activists began moving in after a judge signed an eviction order last month. Daryl had reportedly been there for three weeks.
