New age musician YANNI faces a domestic battery charge after being arrested last Friday at his home in Manalapan, FL, for allegedly striking his girlfriend, according to authorities.
In a police report, 33-year-old SILVIA BARTHES accuses the 51-year-old singer of grabbing her arms and throwing her on a bed. Yanni, whose legal name is JOHN YANNI CHRISTOPHER, denies the allegations and released the following statement today: "I want everyone to know that I am completely innocent of any allegations made with respect to the events at my home on the night of March 2. These allegations are cruel, false, without merit and baseless. At a more appropriate time and place, I hope and pray I will have an opportunity to address my fans and colleagues all over the world."
He was released on his own recognizance and did not have to post bond.
