Former Village People Cop Arrested in S.F.

Former VILLAGE PEOPLE bandmember VICTOR WILLIS has been arrested in San Francisco, California, after he disappeared from an ongoing drug and gun trial. Willis, who ironically dressed as a policeman in the 1970s disco group, was taken into police custody on Sunday following a routine traffic stop.

Cops allegedly found the singer and his friend Staci Brandt to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The YMCA hitmaker has been missing since October 20 when he failed to attend sentencing following an arrest in July, when he was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine and a loaded .45-caliber, semi-automatic handgun in Daly City, California.

Only the day before sentencing, Willis accepted a plea bargain with a maximum 16-month prison term. However, following his lengthy disappearance and new arrest, San Mateo County Assistant District Attorney Morley Pitt says the singer could now spend up to five years behind bars. Willis is scheduled to appear in court later today.
