Shannon Doherty in Car Crash

TMZ has learned that Shannen Doherty was involved in a car crash in Malibu on Monday and the other driver was taken to the hospital.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the 34-year-old actress was driving her Range Rover when she made a left turn onto Pacific Coast Highway, striking a Mustang driven by James Warren Paul, who was taken by ambulance to a Santa Monica hospital.

We're told Doherty complained of pain at the scene but refused treatment.

Law enforcement official tells TMZ Doherty will be cited for causing the accident -- a Sheriff's official told TMZ, the citation has been written but Doherty has not yet received it.

TMZ contacted a relative of Paul's this morning. She said Paul is home recuperating with a neck injury and that his car was totalled.

A spokesperson for Doherty told TMZ the actress went by private car to Cedars-Sinai Hospital and was examined for thigh bruises and cuts.
