Boy George Enters No Plea

Pop star Boy George entered no plea to drugs possession in court in New York City Wednesday, but his lawyer insists he is innocent and will fight the charges against him.

The former Culture Club singer -- real name George O'Dowd -- was arrested at his Manhattan home on October 7 after police found 13 bags of cocaine following a burglary call to the apartment.

The case has been adjourned until March 8 after the 44-year-old's lawyer Lou Freeman asked for more time to prepare the case.

Speaking after the hearing, Freeman claimed many people had been at the apartment and that his client didn't know who owned the drug.

He said, "He steadfastly maintains his innocence as to these charges.

"He's already pleaded not guilty, he continues that plea of not guilty in the strongest possible terms. He will fight these drug charges to prove his innocence."

O'Dowd is charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance after his arrest and faces up to five-and-a-half years in prison if found guilty.
