ET is happy to break the news that our own fashion guru, STEVEN COJOCARU, underwent a successful kidney transplant operation at Cedars Sinai Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 11, and is now recovering in Los Angeles.This is the second kidney transplant for the style maven, who actually found a match in his very own mother, AMELIA. "I'm immensely grateful for the precious gift my mother has given me," says Cojo. "She is my hero today and every day. Thank you to all for your prayers and good wishes -- it gave me the strength to persevere and warmed my heart."
His first transplanted kidney, donated by a close friend, had to be removed when it became infected with the Polyoma Virus, a condition among transplant recipients that can cause incompatibility and eventual loss of the transplanted kidney.
